"When I'd get tired
and want to stop,
I'd wonder what my
next opponent was
doing. I'd wonder
if he was still
working out.
I'd try to visualize
him. When I could
see him still
working, I'd start
pushing myself.
When I could see
him in the shower,
I'd push myself
harder."

2011 Spring / Summer Schedule
& Information for Freestyle and Greco-Roman
The wrestling season does not end with the scholastic
states. The
Olympic styles of Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling come alive. The
opportunities begin for learning and refining those styles, applying them in
various situations: clinics; developmental and in-state tournaments;
traveling on NJ teams; or competing at national competitions. Listed in this
flyer are the 2010 scheduled NJ Freestyle and Greco clinics & tournaments; along with
local, regional and national tournament dates and sites. This schedule has
been designed to facilitate introduction and training of wrestlers to
Freestyle and Greco-Roman. All events should be checked on the NJ Wrestling
website:
www.usawnj.org or the USA Wrestling
national website:
www.themat.com Getting good training and
competition is vital to one's development in Freestyle wrestling and
Greco-Roman wrestling. Training and competing in State and National events
will greatly enhance one's skills and knowledge of the sport. The Goal is to
offer you training and competitive situations that will greatly improve your
wrestling skills and knowledge. No matter what level of wrestler you are, no
matter what your skills are, the key to success is constantly striving to
learn more. You are either moving forward or backward… there is no such
thing as staying the same. See you at the TOP!!! Coaches are needed. If you
can provide assistance, contact William Terrell at (732) 826-0303 or Rich
Santoli at (201) 921-3275.
Remember - if you sign up for BOTH Freestyle and Greco-Roman, the fee for
BOTH is $30.00. If you only sign up for ONE style (either one), the fee is
$20.00
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are planning to
compete for Team New Jersey at the 2011 Cadet / Junior Freestyle and / or
Greco-Roman National Championships in July, you MUST review, complete, and
sign the forms in the Fargo Information Packet to establish your commitment.
This packet contains IMPORTANT documents, forms, information that must be
completed and submitted to USAW NJ by deadlines contained within the
documents, so PLEASE fill them out promptly and get them in with your
payments ASAP.
