2018 Freestyle & Greco-Roman Spring Schedule...

Kids & Girls Scholastic

Scholastic or Folkstyle style wrestling opportunities include Intrastate (within NJ) and Interstate (external to NJ) competitions. Within the state of NJ, there is a series of qualifiers that are held in different regions of the state. The top 3 place winners from each Qualifier go on to wrestle in a NJ State Championship Tournament. There is also a separate Girls State Championships. Girls are eligible to wrestle in the "Kids State Championships" with the boys and are eligible to wrestle in the "Girls State Championships".

Wrestle-offs are held to select a "Team NJ" team o compete with other states. An example of this is the Mason-Dixon Quad. Four teams from different states from the Mid-Artlantic region gather at the McDonogh school in MD for dual-meet folkstyle competitions.

Freestyle / Greco-Roman

Freestyle & Greco-Roman competition begins at the local state level, wherein competitors are provided opportunities to compete in developmental and ranking events leading up to a State Championships for the Olympic styles of wrestling. Various "Team NJ" rosters are assembled for Regional and National competitions.
